What to expect
Our classes are designed to be efficient and effective, lasting just one hour. To ensure we make the most of this time, classes start promptly. Please arrive a few minutes early if you need to change beforehand.
Each class begins with a group warm-up and activation drills to get you ready. The core of our classes includes a strength component and a daily workout. The strength exercises vary daily and weekly, featuring movements like back squats, bench presses, deadlifts, barbell rows, and free weights.
Workouts range from 10 to 30 minutes and incorporate various styles such as EMOM (Every Minute on the Minute), AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible), timed workouts, chippers, and circuits. This variety keeps our workouts engaging and ensures you’re always challenged in new and exciting ways.
Group Classes
Bootcamp
Led by experienced, knowledgeable coaches, Bootcamp classes feature exercises that can easily be modified to accommodate all ability levels or existing injuries. Designed to build strength and improve cardio, every class brings a fresh new workout while following a consistent structure. Each class includes a strength portion featuring movements like deadlifts, squats, bench press, Olympic lifts, and finishes with a metabolic conditioning workout of the day (WOD). WODs follow functional fitness formats like EMOMs, AMRAPs, rounds for time, and include weighted movements, bodyweight movements or a combination of both. We’ve got a strong, welcoming fitness community at RTB so expect to have fun with other members sweating it out with you and cheering you on!
Flash Classes
If you’re a bit short on time during the work day but looking to get an effective workout in, our 45-minute lunchtime flash classes are for you! We keep things fresh with a variety of different style classes throughout the week, including tabata, TRX, circuit, and strength circuit. Expect a fast-paced, efficient workout using primarily bodyweight with some weighted movements. You’ll be back to the office and feeling fit in no time!
Boxing
Our boxing class is a fun new way to sweat while learning a new skill.
The class will be a circuit style workout that will help build your cardio, endurance, and strength. Our experienced coaches will help you with everything from how to throw a punch, to footwork drills, and everything in-between.
Gymnastics
Level up your functional fitness gymnastics skills with this class from Coach Fernando!
Any new skill – especially more complex movements like toes to bar and pull-ups – is achieved through having a solid foundation of strength and mechanics.
Gymnastics class is focused on building that foundation and is designed for anyone looking to increase their gymnastics skill level for functional fitness workouts, whether you’re chasing that first pull-up or looking to string together your muscle-ups a bit more smoothly.
Olympic Weightlifting / Against the Tide Strength
Olympic Weightlifting Technique class is a chance to learn the highly technical skill of Olympic Weightlifting. Suitable for both absolute beginners and more experienced lifters, this class builds technique and strengthens the two Olympic Weightlifting movements: the Clean and Jerk and the Snatch.
Olympic Weightlifting Conditioning class is involved with movements such as squats, push and pull movements, and functional movements, to support the strength foundation of Olympic Weightlifting.
During these classes, time is taken to ensure members understand each step of the lifts and know how they can improve going forward, with detailed instruction and support. The class follows a structured training session suitable for all levels, with adjustments made to cater to individual needs and goals.
Coach JJ is present to offer personalized guidance and feedback, ensuring all athletes receive the attention they need to progress.
Coach JJ is also the founder and head coach of Against The Tide Strength, offering individualized and team programming in Olympic Weightlifting and strength conditioning, available both remotely and in-person. This includes coaching, competition preparation and support, and participation.

Overhead Press
Nevermind curls for the girls; time to press for success. Our overhead press class will have you making gains in no time. While the class focuses mostly on the strict press, you can expect it to help improve your strength in other overhead movements, like push presses, thrusters, Olympic lifts, and more.
Squat Sesh
As one of the lifts that many of us struggle with, we could all use some help with our squat. Squat Sesh is a great opportunity to really break things down to the fundamentals and build on your squat strength. Expect to work on form, mobility and strength in different squat variations. If powerful legs are what you’re looking for, this class is a great start!
Open Gym
Open Gym
Our open gym membership gives you the freedom and flexibility to workout whenever it’s convenient for you. Members have access 24/7 to our boutique functional fitness gym complete with all equipment needed for weightlifting, powerlifting, CrossFit-style training and more. Our gym also features cardio equipment like our Concept 2 rowers and Rogue Echo bikes. Since open gym spots are booked ahead of time, no need to worry anymore that you won’t have the space or equipment to complete your workout without interruption.
